Bayer Animal Health has launched its anti-infective, Baytril, in a new oral suspension format, specifically designed for easier administration to cats.

According to the manufacturer, this latest innovation from the well-known and trusted Baytril family of anti-infectives has the added advantage of having been formulated withion exchange, taste-masking technology – its novel and palatable format with almost undetectable taste has been shown to have a high acceptance among feline patientsin pre-clinical studies .
It can be dosed and administered easily, with a graduated syringe and customised mess-free dispenser (on bottle).
Bayer spokesman Dr Markus Edingloh said: "Cats have their own, very specific taste, and it's not always easy for owners to dose them. This high performance oral suspension will make life much easier for the cat owner, and enable a more stress free experience for the cat itself."
Baytril Oral Suspension for cats is currently the only oral suspension enrofloxacin product designed for cats on the market, claims Bayer. Like other product formats in the Baytril family, it offers reliable performance when treating single and mixed bacterial infections affecting the respiratory, digestive and urogenital tracts, as well as skin and skin wounds.
The company claims that Baytril offers good tissue distribution, enabling it to reach the site of an infection very quickly, and it demonstrates a broad spectrum of activity, including many clinically relevant pathogens.
Introduction of the oral suspension now offers vets three different Baytril products to choose from, each one specifically designed to cure cats' infections.
