Benefits:

  • Helps dogs get back to enjoying life, at a price that’s easier on you.
  • Indicated for the control of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs. Knowing more about the signs of osteoarthritis is a key first step in helping to improve your dog’s quality of life.
  • Sweetened suspension readily accepted by dogs. In a laboratory study where Meloxidyl was placed on the food, 100% of dogs ate the food.
  • Convenient and allows a precise dosage. Every bottle of Meloxidyl includes 2 dosing syringes: a small syringe (blue print) for dogs under 15lbs and a large syringe (green print) for dogs over 15 lbs. So your dog receives the exact dose of NSAIDs needed, down to the pound. No more, no less.
  • Effective. In two field studies involving 277 dogs of all breeds and ages, Meloxicam was shown to be effective at reducing pain and increased overall mobility as early as 8 days.
  • Safe. Six weeks and six months studies, at up to 5 times the dose of meloxicam, revealed no significant clinical adverse reactions.

Meloxidyl Oral Suspension:
Meloxidyl 1.5mg/ml oral suspension for dogs is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID).

Meloxidyl is available as either a 10ml, 32ml or 100ml bottle and can only be supplied with a written prescription from your vets.

Most commonly, Meloxidyl is used to help manage arthritis in dogs as well as acting as a pain relief for those who suffer from chronic (long-term) or acute (short-term) musculo-skeletal disorders such as sprained muscles.

Meloxidyl is also used in a number of other diseases and illnesses to alleviate inflammation and reduce any pain that your dog is suffering from. It is often used as a post-operative pain relief to help reduce any pain and discomfort.

Meloxidyl is a pale-yellow suspension which contains the active ingredient Meloxicam in the form of a tasty liquid, avoiding the need to give tablets. Meloxidyl suspension is easy to give and should be administered with food (unless otherwise advised by your veterinary surgeon). Two syringes are provided in each bottle. The smallest syringe is intended to dose dogs weighing less than 7 kg in bodyweight, the largest syringe is for dogs over 7 kg in body weight.

Meloxidyl is usually given once daily and an improvement is normally seen in the dog 3-4 days after starting treatment.

Ideally, Meloxidyl should be used alongside a Joint Supplement that contains glucosamine to further help support the joints and the cartilage. All of our Joint Supplements can be found in the Joint Supplement section of our website.

Packaging is with 2 sizes of dosing syringes. The small syringe (blue print) is calibrated for use in dogs under 15 lbs. The large syringe (green print) is calibrated for use in dogs 15 lbs or greater.
Shake bottle well. Push down and unscrew bottle top. Attach the dosing syringe to the bottle by gently pushing the end onto the top of the bottle.
Turn the bottle/syringe upside down. Pull the plunger out until the black line on the plunger corresponds to the dog’s body weight in pounds.
Turn the bottle right way up and with a twisting movement separate the dosing syringe from the bottle.
Push the plunger to empty the contents of the syringe onto food or in dog's mouth.
