Omeprazole inhibits acid formation by the sommach by a different mechanism then cimetidine and other histamine H2 receptor antagonsts. Not used extenively in beterinary medicine due to sost . It is recognized ahs having a longer duration of action thecimetidine and more effective at preventing and curing ulcers from NSAID's.
Should be given before meal or with meal.
